Starting off the right way can make a world of difference in almost any business. So don’t worry, we get it, launching your e-commerce store after months or weeks of preparation can be a scary thing. Accept imperfection

When starting out a new business, many entrepreneurs delay their projects because they think that it’s just not ready yet. Perfection can be a matter of subjectivity in many cases. In other cases, it’s simply an unrealistic standard. If you feel like you’ve taken the necessary steps and precautions, just go ahead and go live. Of course, we’re not saying that you shouldn’t try your hardest to deliver the best you can. But don’t overanalyze things that are fine the way they are. You’ll still be able to make adjustments once you go live, so don’t be afraid to take that big first step that you’ve been preparing for.

Organize a helpdesk

Accepting imperfections does NOT mean that you shouldn’t be prepared to help your customers when they have questions for you. Organizing a help desk service can be difficult which is why a lot of companies choose to outsource their incident resolution and service request management. Obviously, you’ll have to carefully analyze whether this is a good solution for you and your company. Whether it is or isn’t, one thing is certain: you will need to have some sort of a help desk service.

Share your story

If you’re a newcomer you will have to show new shoppers who you are and why they should buy from you. Buying from an unknown website is usually something that shoppers are very careful about. Adding an ‘About’ page can be a great tool to strengthen your brand. Shoppers will usually look for signs that your website is real, reliable and here to stay for the long term. The better your story, the better the chances of a commitment from their side. You can be creative here, it doesn’t have to be a corporate mission statement. Perhaps you’d rather write a story or show them a video. As long as your customers understand who it is that they’re buying from.
